The Mariners have won three of their past four matches, suffering just one loss in their past six fixtures. The positive run has seen the club jump up into fifth on the A-League ladder.

After a lean few seasons Central Coast seem back on the right path and a united bunch. Okon believes the club's strength in depth is a big factor.

"Everyone’s delighted with back-to-back wins," he said.

"At any football club that’s going to breed confidence, it’s going to shed a different light. We’ve had some rough times here for a couple of years. Everyone’s embracing what we’re trying to do. We’ve got a really good squad and the players are working hard.

"In the end tough decisions need to be made on who starts and who doesn’t play, but we’re very much a team, a squad. They do say for the strength of a team you look at the bench, and we feel our bench is very strong regardless of who’s starting.

"We’ve got a real fit and healthy team at the moment so tough decisions need to be made."

One of the reasons for the Mariners' transformation has been the form of new signing Daniel De Silva. The playmaker has scored two goals and set up one so far this year.

De Silva spectacularly created Blake Powell's winner against Perth last weekend, and Okon says it is becoming the norm for the talented 20-year-old.

"He’s already done that this season, away to the Wanderers," he said.

"We’re sort of coming to expect that from Daniel. He’s very capable of that and you talk about what he does when he has the ball. But he starts our press and works ever so hard.

"He’s a player that really, when he has the ball he’s exciting, and when he doesn’t he works ever so hard to get it back. If Daniel can keep that up I’m sure that’s going to bring us more wins."

Central Coast head south on Sunday to face Melbourne City. Okon is expecting a "really tough game".

"If you’re coming third in the competition, I think they won their first four games, so they’re doing something right down there," he said.

"They’ve had a little bit of a blip, in terms or results. [But] it’s a strong team. Melbourne City’s got a great roster, some really, really dangerous players in the final third. Like every week we’re going to need to put in a really good performance and try be mistake-free.

"We feel if we can manage that then we give ourselves a chance of getting some points."
