The youngster is making strides on the international front and recently made his first appearance for the Olyroos against Togo at the Intercontinental Cup.

That effectively ended any hopes Greece had of securing his services at international level with the youngster highly likely to be part of Graham Arnold's Beijing squad, especially if FIFA remain adamant on Danny Vukovic's exclusion from the tournament.

Bouzanis is highly rated at Liverpool and reserve team boss Gary Ablett is looking to Bouzanis to push hard and catch the eye of Rafa Benitez next season.

Bouzanis will have to climb to the top of the goalkeeping contenders pile though with Hungarian custodian Peter Gulacsi also anxious to impress.

Ablett told liverpoolfc.tv: "They have the scope and the size, and speaking to goalkeeping coach Billy Stewart every day, he will tell you that they both have a thirst for knowledge and a hunger to succeed.

"With that kind of attitude we are hoping that one of them, if not both, can go on and play in our first team."
