EXCLUSIVE: It was a case of Olyroo in, Olyroo out at Sydney FC today with Stuart Musialik’s capture coinciding with the rubber-stamping of Mark Milligan’s exit visa.

As he welcomed another former Jet into the camp into the fold, any lingering doubts over the future of another young international were finally put to bed by the coach.
Kosmina told au.fourfourtwo.com: “Mark’s made it very obvious in a discussion that I had with him that he wanted to leave. Well, not wanted to leave this club as such, but to try his luck overseas - so he goes with our blessing.”
Musialik’s arrival is unlikely to end transfer speculation surrounding the club with English-based players such as Shane Sherriff, Shane Huke and Trent McClenahan all linked with the harbour city club.
Kosmina was not going to be drawn on names but said careful consideration would be given to all potential fresh faces.
He said: “We get emails across the desk every day so they’ll be taken under consideration in the due course of time.
“We want to be the best club in the country and we want to be successful. You have to be ambitious to do that and I think we’ve been fairly ambitious in the players we’ve signed. I think we’ve got a very good core of the team.
“We’ve signed two very good strikers in Bridge and Aloisi and two very good midfielders in Colosimo and Musialik.
"Then you look at the players already here in the likes of Steve Corica and Alex Brosque plus youngsters such as Adam Biddle, Adam Casey and Nik Tsatallios."
He added: "We’re starting to get something into place that can hopefully build long term success.
“Now that we’ve got a good spine I think we can look at where we need to complement things a little. Putting a team together’s like putting a jigsaw puzzle together. If the pieces don’t fit it ain’t going to look good.”
As for how many extra bodies Kosmina plans to secure before the big kick off, his answer is simple: “Depends on how much they cost. We might have money for two, we might have money for none.”
Sydney’s squad expansion came on a day where the football world was digesting the FFA’s decision not to expand the A-League next season.
Kosmina is not opposed to the idea of introducing an extra round between the existing clubs, providing it doesn’t bring a danger of boredom.
He said: “I’ve said for years that we need to play more games. The development of the game in this country needs it.
"It’s probably why there is that gap between A-League players that Pim Verbeek described and the players overseas because we simply don’t play enough games.
“The only danger with another round between the existing clubs though is that you get sick of playing each other four times. If we get four rounds plus two extra sides in the future then you’ve got a really wholesome competition.
“I would have liked to see the Gold Coast in there as it would have been a nice away trip! But if the FFA’s not ready to put them in, you don’t put them in.
"You don’t force something to work when it’s not ready to work. Hopefully both teams will be up and running for next year.”
