OLYMPIC glory will net each of the Olyroos a $20,000 reward as an incentive to get Graham Arnold's men to go for gold.
The Australian Olympic Committee's reward payments scheme kicks in should they reach the semi-finals of the football tournament in Beijing.
Each member of the 18-strong squad, which completes Olympic preparations with a warm up game against South Korea this evening, is eligible with a cash reward also in place for silver, bronze or a fourth place finish.
The Professional Footballers Association doesn't believe money is the prime motivation for any Olympian but is happy to see a lot of hard work rewarded.
PFA chief executive Brendan Schwab told au.fourfourtwo.com: "I'm sure all the players in the Olyroos squad are looking forward to the tournament and want to do their best for themselves and their country.
"I don't think people take part in an Olympic campaign for money but we're happy that there is a reward there for success.
"It has been a long qualifying road for these guys and I'm sure they'll want to achieve the best outcome they possibly can."
A silver medal will net each player $13,400, a bronze will be rewarded with $10,000 with $6,700 for fourth place.
