Hassan Rabea scored the only goal of the game as he continued the form that saw him finish as the leading scorer at the Gulf Cup, which Oman won on home soil for the first time earlier in the month.

Rabea struck in the 63rd minute as Oman moved onto four points from their opening two games. Claude Le Roy's team drew their first qualifier 0-0 against Indonesia.

The Indonesians, meanwhile, notched up a second scoreless draw by holding Australia at the Gelora Bung Karno Stadium in Jakarta.

The top two teams in each of the five qualifying groups progress to the 16-team finals, which will be held in Qatar in January 2011.

Joining hosts Qatar and defending champions Iraq among those to have already qualified for the finals are Saudi Arabia and South Korea - who finished second and third respectively in the last edition of the competition - and India, who won last year's AFC Challenge Cup.
