The Sky Blues are into the semi-finals of the FFA Cup and kick off the A-League season this weekend against Western Sydney. In 2015/16 the club finished a disappointing seventh, missing out on the finals.

The midfielder told FourFourTwo Sydney FC has lofty goals for the new campaign.

"We sat down day one of pre-season and sat as a collective at Sydney FC and definitely decided that there's three things we can win this year and we want to win all three," O'Neill said.

"We want to win the FFA Cup, the minor premiership and we want to win the grand final of the A-League. Those are the three things that every day are instilled in us that that's our aim and that's our goal.

"The work we've already put in and continue to put in to achieve that we'll definitely be doing. Everyone down at the club - players, coaching staff - we all want to do well this year. We know our goals and that's what we want to achieve.

"We're looking very sharp and the boys are looking forward to heading into the season."

Sydney FC has recruited strongly and brought in Socceroos in Alex Wilkinson, Bernie Ibini, Josh Brillante and Michael Zullo. The club has also signed Brazilian striker Bobo to compliment their attack.

According to O'Neill, the new recruits have gelled well with the existing squad.

"They've been brilliant," the 22-year old said.

"Joshy's come in and he's actually moved in with me, we're living together which is good. He's a lovely bloke and a very, very good footballer.

"Bobo's got international pedigree. He's come in and you can already see his touches on the ball and his finishes in training. He's going to be very exciting for Sydney FC and the fans this season.

"Then you've got the likes of Wilko, Alex Wilkinson, at the back, Michael Zullo, Bernie Ibini. These players are A-League experienced and top quality Socceroos. They'll give us a bit of steel and excitement going forward.

"We've definitely recruited well and it's an exciting time to be a Sydney FC fan that's for sure."
