Socceroos skipper Mile Jedinak should return to Crystal Palace, according to a growing vocal band of the club’s supporters.
Palace fans chanted Jedinak’s name during Wednesday morning’s (AEDT) dismal 2-1 home defeat to lowly Swansea City at Selhurst Park.
The manager who sold Jedinak to Aston Villa in the off-season, Alan Pardew, was sacked by Palace a fortnight ago, giving fans hope of a return.
Sam Allardyce has since been appointed as the new Palace boss and he would’ve noticed the supporters’ pleas.
Pardew replaced Jedinak with former Arsenal midfielder Mathieu Flamini in the off-season, but the Frenchman has only started three games.
Palace fans argue that Jedinak, who spent five years at the club including several as skipper, has never been properly replaced.
The Australian skippered Palace to the FA Cup final last term and was popular with fans due to his combative nature in the middle of the park.
Jedinak missed Aston Villa’s 1-0 loss to Cardiff City in midweek due to illness but has been a regular for the side since his move.
Palace fans have also taken to social media to make their feelings known:
The seeds of this calamity were sewn the moment we sold Jedinak.

He wasn't technically a good footballer but he sweated blood for us.
Sections of Selhurst Park singing Mile Jedinak Jedinak Mike Jedinak last night. Says it all really. Boy do we miss a leader out there #cpfc

All those moaning about Big Sam, the problem is not him. The problem is Pardew talked Steve in to selling the leader of our team. Jedinak!!!

I know I harp on about it but Mile Jedinak. Not only the leadership but so many times again there was no one in that space in front of back4

Worst performance I've seen from a Palace side for a few years. No fight, no passion, no leaders. What I'd give to have Jedinak & Murray

Palace fans singing Mile Jedinak's name. You can see why with the lack of leaders on the pitch this evening so far.

... Cabaye, Townsend, Benteke, they dont give a flying TRUCK about the club: it's just another London club to them. Bring back Jedinak #CPFC
