The Brazilian has already agreed terms over a switch to Turin, but the player's agent Mariano Grimaldi claimed earlier on Thursday that Zamparini was trying to back-track on the deal.

The president of the Sicilian club insists that the move is still on, but he continues to claim that Grimaldi has asked for an excessive fee for brokering the deal, a fee Zamparini refuses to pay.

"The deal hasn't stalled, Amauri will go to Juve," he told Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport on Thursday afternoon.

"The only thing that's bothering me is the attempt at extortion on the part of Grimaldi. I really hope that the regulators get involved in this."

There had been reports that Zamparini was going back on the Juventus deal after AC Milan entered the fray with an offer for the 27-year-old forward.

But the Rosanero president insists that no other club is involved and the only stumbling block is Grimaldi.

"Milan? There's no other deal going on other than the one with Juventus," he added.

"Amauri will be a Juventus player, but without the golden handshake."

Earlier on Thursday, Grimaldi told local Tele Sud television: "Zamparini needs to keep his promises.

"He had promised this money to the player and I don't understand why, on the day that everything has been drawn up, he has to take a step backwards.

"We all know what Zamparini is like. As soon as a deal is close, he pulls back and it seems as though he does not want to sell Amauri at all."
