Sunday's 1-0 defeat at Genoa was Palermo's fifth straight loss and coach Serse Cosmi's second since taking over the team after the sacking of Delio Rossi.

"If we lose our next two games we will establish a new negative record at the club," Zamparini said.

"Since I have been at Palermo, we had never lost five straight games, you can imagine if we were to lose seven.

"If that happens, I would simply have to leave the club."

Palermo have failed to score in their last four league games while they have conceded 11 goals in those games.

They host Serie A leaders AC Milan this weekend before making the journey to Catania for a Sicilian showdown on April 3.

Palermo, who have not come out triumphant since beating Lecce on February 6, are ninth in the standings, nine points behind Roma, who hold the last European qualifying spot.
