PANATHINAIKOS saw their lead at the top of the Greek Super League trimmed to three points today after a surprise 2-0 home defeat to Kavala.
Substitute Ebi Smolarek was the hero for Kavala with goals in the 68th and 85th minutes.
Second-placed Olympiacos took full advantage with a 3-1 win at Asteras Tripoli.
Goals inside the opening eight minutes from Lomana LuaLua and Ieroklis Stoltidis put the visitors in control and, although Eder Luis pulled one back, LuaLua grabbed his second five minutes before half-time.
Freddy Adu was among the goals as Aris Salonika beat Ergotelis 2-1 while Panionios and Iraklis drew 0-0.
Struggling Levadiakos drew 1-1 with Atromitos with both sides scoring late.
Giorgos Barkoglou put Levadiakos ahead after 88 minutes but Stelios Sfakianakis levelled matters two minutes later.
