The pair missed the 4-2 defeat at Norwich through injury as the Magpies suffered a third loss in four games.

But Pardew thinks thigh injury victim Coloccini could be back in time to face the Swans.

"We don't think he's too bad - he's got a chance for next week," he told the Newcastle Chronicle.

"Tiote is a possibility, and that'll be a big lift," he added of his midfielder.

But one man set to miss out again is Mike Williamson. The former Watford man has been out since suffering an ankle injury in the Carling Cup clash with Scunthorpe, and his manager says it is "a long shot" for him to be involved this weekend.

"Williamson will be a tough call. He hasn't really done much," he said.

"He might have a run around in the reserves (on Tuesday), but to ask him to play in the first team is a long shot."
