TOTTENHAM striker Roman Pavlyuchenko insists his reserve-team outing on Monday was for no other reason than to get game time.
The 27-year-old watched Spurs' 2-1 win at Aston Villa from the bench on Sunday, so played for the second string in a 4-0 triumph over Chelsea the following day.
But the Russia frontman is confident the demotion is only a temporary one.
"My friends told me about information about my dismissal to the reserves," Pavlyuchenko told Sport Express. "It doesn't correspond to reality at all.
"I really played for the reserve team along with several players who didn't take part in the match with Aston Villa, and it was necessary to get playing practice.
"However, it doesn't mean that I will play in the reserves on a regular basis. I keep on training with the first team."
