Barcelona's Pedro has urged Pep Guardiola to re-sign as head coach immediately, saying both fans and players want him to stay.
The 41-year-old manager is out of contract at the end of the season and has so far resisted committing to the La Liga club on a rolling one-year deal.
Pedro made it clear on Thursday that Guardiola is the preferred option of the playing group.
"We are sure he is going to renew his contract; that he will go on," Pedro said. "He is a very important person for this club, he knows how it works.
"I think all Barca fans want him as well and I hope he renews as soon as possible. As I say, he has the last word, he has to decide but we support him."
Speaking ahead of Saturday's match against Sporting Gijon, Pedro said Barcelona refuse to give up on the chase for the Spanish title despite sitting 10 points behind rivals Real Madrid.
"We've always said it is difficult to overcome when we are 10 points behind (Real Madrid)," the winger said.
"But what is clear is that we are not giving up any match, any title."
"There are a lot of matches left and we are going to fight till the end. And I think the team is fit to go for every title."
Sporting Gijon are currently 19th in La Liga and should present no challenge to the reigning champions on Saturday.
But Barcelona only beat the club from the north of Spain 1-0 earlier in the season and Pedro refused to take them lightly.
"Every match is complicated, as I said before," the 24-year-old said.
"They seem easier but I insist there is no easy match, there is no match in which you can be sure to get the three points."
