Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini claims he is not nervous ahead of the club's league opener despite his inexperience in England.
The 59-year-old joined the Manchester side in June, replacing Roberto Mancini after a season without silverware, and he will be in charge for his first league game against Newcastle on Monday.
But for the Chilean - who has managed teams in Spain, Argentina, Ecuador and in his home country - it will also be his first game at the head of an English team.
He does not feel that the lack of experience will cost them in any way though, and is ready to ensure his men get off to the best possible start.
"No, absolutely not. I have a very good squad so I am not nervous," he insisted when asked if he was nervous.
"I have worked in a lot of different leagues, very difficult leagues.
"To manage River Plate in Argentina is not easy, to manage Real Madrid in Spain is not easy.
"I am very excited about my new job but I don't want to compare.
"They are all very good leagues and I try to always give my best."
Pellegrini could potentially hand Premier League debuts to new signings Jesus Navas, Stevan Jovetic, Alvaro Negredo and Fernandinho in the league opener, with all four having impressed during pre-season.
Spaniard Negredo - who joined from Sevilla in July - scored two goals during City's build-up to the new campaign which saw them win three of their six friendlies.
