That'll do Perth, that'll do.
Andy Keogh's 9th in 16 matches and a Neil Kilkenny killer gave Perth Glory a clinical 2-0 win over Newcastle Jets at HBF Park.
Perth Glory
Liam Reddy - 8
While he didn't have a huge amount to do, bar getting low for a couple of Dimitri Petratos piledrivers, he marshalls his defenders brilliantly.
Tony Popovic has a habit of getting the best out of experienced keepers, with or without Zeljko Kalac, and Reddy is excelling in the West.
Scott Neville - 6
Pretty meh performance against his former employers, scuppering down the flanks without impetus.
Jason Davidson - 7
Good without being great, was generally outplayed by Daniel Georgievski as the match wore on. Still, for any other conossieurs of Slovenian or Championship football, this season he's a lot more determined than we've seen him in awhile.
Alex Grant - 8
This Perth three-of-a-kind backline offer some of the best Aussie defenders around. Great to see them united under an Aussie coach in the wild west.
Shane Lowry - 8
He could be a Socceroo again, especially when Mark Milligan retires. Not to mention move back to Europe. Unfinished business I reckon.
Matthew Spiranovic - 7
Nowhere near a penalty, not quite as excellent as his defensive pairs, however.
Juande - 8
He's phenomenal at moving the ball quickly, his awareness is excellent. Take, turn, pass and repeat.
Diego Castro - 8
Involved in everything and his flicks are world-class, but he's giving the ball away a little more than usual this season. Remember when he was truly untouchable?
Neil Kilkenny - 9
He's Perth's best player and he still believes he deserves to be a Socceroo. What may have sounded like a ridiculous shout at the beginning of the season seems less crazy every day.
Andy Keogh - 8
Since when has he had nine goals? He's drifted under the radar this season but, for argument's sake, had Chris Ikonomidis not bore the brunt this season he could probably have been a golden boot winner. Weird thought.
Fábio Ferreira - 6
Don't get me wrong, he finds good spaces and provides energetic, driving runs but no final product. Okay, maybe it's harsh but he's no Joel Chianese. Would love to see a Jake Brimmer or Jacob Italiano get his minutes.
Subs
Ivan Franjic - 8
Could have easily scored, unlucky.
Joel Chianese - 8
Provided brilliant runs, always looking for the cutback.
Brendon Santalab - N/A
Newcastle Jets
Glen Moss - 7
Old blighty still going strong, probably getting better actually.
Daniel Georgievski - 8
I'm a big Georgievski fan, he always offers a huge amount of energy, a bit of grit and fight, tenacity, a few wild shots and tackles. International experience with the one and only Macedonia, you name it.
Ivan Vujica - 7
He's been pretty darn impressive the last couple of weeks and this match was no different, albeit he was up against a very good opponent. Outdone a few times, sure, but he showed a valiant work rate.
Nikolai Topor-Stanley - 6
He's crafty but wow is he slow sometimes.
Nigel Boogaard - 6
Tempting to give him a greater rating based solely on how heartbroken and angry he seemed when Kilkenny's deal-breaker of a curler tucked in. He didn't play that well though.
Lachlan Jackson - 6
Hard to remember him even contributing that much? For a bloke that size that's not a good sign.
Matthew Ridenton - 6
Let Dimi take the wild shots from range, stick to the pass and move. He's mobile but a few too many who-tos.
Ronald Vargas - 7
Played quite well, orchestrating. He's a bit more of a composed force in the midfield than Dimi, which Newcastle should capitalise on more than they do.
Steven Ugarkovic - 6
Get a time machine, travel back to last season. What happened to the freakish passing range? He's not performing badly but he's just not the same player.
Roy O'Donovan - 6
Read above.
Kaine Sheppard - 6
Couldn't replicate last week, despite his best efforts.
Subs
Dimitri Petratos - 7
It's hard to rate him on afternoons like this because he should be doing better but it's not necessarily his fault.
On bad days Dimi's a couple of inches from scoring a wordly, he probably just needs to stop trying quite as hard, focus on the simple stuff for awhile.
Jair - 6
He has tried the last few weeks, for sure. But he's not import quality.
Jason Hoffman - 6
Few too many dangerous attacks ended listlessly at the feet or head of Hoffman.
