Dadi made a statement of intent for new club Wellington Phoenix, scoring a match-winning brace against Brisbane Roar on Saturday, including a goal from a spectacular bicycle kick in the first-half.

He was released from his contract at Perth, after falling down the pecking order at the club, but proved he still has a nose for goals.

However, at a press conference this morning Glory CEO Paul Kelly said: "There's no regrets, we'd do the same again.

"Eugene is a lovely bloke. We wish him all the best, it didn't work out and in the best interests of the club and the best interests of Eugene we let him go to Wellington.

"He had an absolute cracker of a debut - scripted - but these things happen. Let's move on."

Meanwhile, the club has confirmed defender Chris Coyne left last night for China to secure a loan deal with with Chinese club Shandong Luneng.

Coyne will complete a short training camp and a medical, but should return in time for the club's match against Melbourne Victory on Saturday.

However, there has been no concrete offers for Glory's two other Socceroo hopefuls Mile Sterjovski and Jacob Burns.

All three are looking to impress national coach Pim Verbeek ahead of the upcoming World Cup.

However, if the three do leave on loan they could miss crucial games as the Glory chase a finals spot for the first time since the inception of the A-Leauge.

Kelly said the three were committed to the club and he couldn't fault them for chasing a spot in South Africa.

He added: "That was the deal at the start of the season. We've signed them for three years. It's a long-term strategy to be the best club in the A-League and the best club in Asia.

"In hindsight it was maybe not the right thing to do but we give them our blessings."

Perth will also look to sign former Motherwell FC midfielder Steven McGarry, after impressing at training last week.
