FRESH firepower remains Ricki Herbert's pressing priority as Wellington Phoenix were held to a goalless draw by a representative XI in Christchurch.
The Phoenix coach admitted after the game that he was hopeful of bringing in two new strikers to bolster a department which suffered the loss of Shane Smeltz to Gold Coast United at the end of last season.
Former Tranmere Rovers man Chris Greenacre was included though but Phoenix failed to find a way through the hosts defence.
There was a first outing of pre-season for Andrew Durante though and his presence helped ensure the A-League side could at least return home with a clean sheet.
Wellington will continue their build up to the new season with two matches against Chinese Super League opposition.
