Phoenix, who moved for Dadi after reading an article on au.fourfourtwo.com, are delighted with the initial impact he has made and they are confident the veteran striker will prove to be no one-hit wonder.

Wellington CEO Tony Pignata says there is room to manoeuvre on extending his initial stay.

"Eugene has a contract here until March 31 and we can sit down at the end of the season and look at things again," Pignata told au.fourfourtwo.com.

"He has certainly started well for us and we will see over the next few matches."

Dadi and company face North Queensland Fury this weekend, a match which brings the 'Fowler effect' to Westpac Stadium.

Pignata has been happy with Wellington's support this season but hopes the appearance of Fowler will encourage even more fans to turn out.

"Robbie is the kind of player that does attract people to matches but I'm sure our supporters will be focusing on helping us to try to get another three points towards a finals spot," he added.

Phoenix are hoping to complete deals for Mark Paston, Troy Hearfield and Reece Crowther this week with defender Jon McKain also high on the list of players the club wants to retain.
