WELLINGTON Phoenix must show greater mental strength if they want to make the step from being a good team to a great team, insists midfielder Tim Brown.
While they are virtually invincible on their own patch, Phoenix are anything but a force on their travels.
They have managed just eight wins on the road in 37 away games and their next challenge is the long haul to Perth.
"But it doesn't get any easier, does it?" Brown told The Dominion Post. "You leave on Thursday to go halfway around the world to play Perth so we're just going to have to be a bit mentally tougher.
"We just need to harden our attitude a little bit so on the days that we do play badly, which are going to come, we can at least get out of it with a point.
"That's what separates good teams from great teams, so we've got to find a way to do that."
