PIM Verbeek says he won't celebrate the Socceroos' qualification to the final round of AFC World Cup qualifiers, saying his job is only half done.
“I'm not a party animal,” said the Socceroo boss shortly after landing this morning. “I had a cup of coffee after the game in Qatar.
“My job is to qualify the nation for the World Cup, so any celebrating will come next year. That's my job, to qualify us for the World Cup.”
Verbeek declared himself satisfied with his team's performance in difficult conditions in Dubai and Doha.
“Five games played, ten points and a nice game against China coming up. So we're very pleased with the performance and the conditions.
“A very good performance in Qatar.”
