"I met with Harry last weekend and had a dinner with him so I know so far he is very happy with his club," said Verbeek.

"Turkish football suits him. It's technical and they always attack and he is thrilled to be part of a new world, new faces. He is very happy."

Verbeek missed seeing Bruce Djite play in Turkey but has named both Djite and Kewell in an expanded 27-man Socceroo squad to play a friendly against Holland in Eindhoven on September 6 and Uzbekistan on Septebmer 10 in a round four World Cup qualifier.

The Socceroo supremo said the squad would be trimmed down following the Dutch game.

And he added he won't be hiding anything from Uzbek scouts who will no doubt be watching on in Eindhoven.

The Dutchman said he knew what to expect from the Uzbeks, even if his players were going into the unknown to a degree.

"I've been there. So I know what we can expect, I was there with South Korea.

"It will be quite a tough game. They play a Russian style. Physically they are strong, but skillful and organised, but okay, our boys are used to it. It'll be a hectic night.

"They are how you say, dark horses. I know Uzbekistan from the Asian Games in Doha and Asian Cup and they were the first team to qualify for next round of World Cup qualifiers"

Dutchman Verbeek added he'd rather lose in Holland if it meant winning in Uzbekistan. Australia last played Holland in a lead up match to the 2006 World Cup, drawing 1-1 in the Netherlands under the guidance of Guus Hiddink.

Verbeek added that he was concerned that Mark Milligan – the only uncontracted player in his squad – still had not found a club six months after leaving Sydney FC.

He also said that Scott McDonald was unlikely to play this weekend and may miss the Holland friendly, but was hopeful he'd be included in the Uzbekistan squad.
