SOCCEROO coach Pim Verbeek revealed that he will leave for Europe in a few days to speak to, amongst others, Newcastle's Mark Viduka.
To see Pim and the Aussieroos arrive home in Sydney this morning...

“I've always said that Viduka is on my list. I will meet him in England to find out his ideas for the future of the Socceroos,” Verbeek said after returning to Sydney Airport early this morning. .
“So far he has never given me an idea he is not interested in the Socceroos,” he added of a player who has not played for the national team in around nine months.
The Socceroos are likely to get together around May 19 in Australia ahead of a friendly with Cameroon on May 23. However, this date is complicated by the late finishing Serie A and German Bundesliga and the fact that most players will be in need of a break.
It's expected there will be a strong Olyroo and A-League element in May's training camp. But will the man they call “Dukes” be there?
“So, I look forward to meeting him and find out if he wants to be part of us. And still there are players in Europe I have never seen before,” added the Dutch coach.
The Socceroos will play Iraq and China at home and Iraq and Qatar away in a three week period during June to complete their group commitments. The top two teams go through to the final AFC World Cup qualifying. Australia sits on top of the group with four points from two games, one point ahead of big spending Qatar.
Verbeek added that he wasn't surprised that group rival Qatar picked up three points at home to Asian Cup champions Iraq.
“They had two big players back [Quintana and Cesar] and we can see some of the other big names in Asia had trouble, Japan, Saudi Arabia.
“That's football in the AFC.”
