It was an even match at Bankwest Stadium as Western Sydney Wanderers and Brisbane Roar played out a 0-0 draw.
Chances were a rare commodity throughout the match with neither side managing to break the deadlock and the Wanderers forced into the substitution of Pirmin Schwegler.
Brisbane came closest in the first half when Bradden Inman was a millisecond away from knocking Jay O'Shea's cross into the net.
Robbie Fowler's men were knocking at the door again in the second half when Macaulayn Gillesphey and Daniel Bowles had shots thwarted off the goal line by the Wanderers resilient defence.
Mat Jurman pulling up with a groin strain sent shivers down Wanderers spines as both sides chased the opening goal, and with Brisbane on top.
In the end, just over 14,000 fans watched the two sides play out a 0-0 draw which keeps Western Sydney on top of the A-League for the next 24 hours.
WESTERN SYDNEY WANDERERS
Daniel Lopar - 7
Lopar made a number of saves but his best was a point blank shot from Daniel Bowles following Alex Meier's goal line clearance.
Daniel Wilmering - 6
The 18-year old sent in a perfectly weighted ball after Max Crocombe's poor goal kick to set up Alex Meier for a chance in the first half. Defensively, Jay O'Shea was teaching him a lesson or two.
Mat Jurman - 6
There were a few shaky moments where Roy O'Donovan was finding small pockets of space in behind Jurman as well as getting left behind by the Roar attack in link up play.
Dylan McGowan - 6.5
McGowan had a good game individually with three interceptions, a number of clearances and a good passing rate at 90%. However he and his defence have a lot of work to do to improve their positioning.
Daniel Georgievski - 6
Georgievski was getting frustrated with refereeing decisions throughout the match but was busy keeping tabs on Bradden Inman on his right flank.
Pirmin Schwegler - N/A
Schwegler picked up where he left off in the derby directing traffic for Western Sydney but was subbed off with an injury.
Kosta Grozos - 6
Grozos did a decent job in his starting debut for the Wanderers finding pockets of space as his side probed the penalty box.
Keanu Baccus - 6.5
Baccus' vision and precision with the ball were on show, side stepping players in tight spaces. He almost scored the opener with a 'Di Canio-esque' volley but it went just wide.
Kwame Yeboah - 5.5
Yeboah pulled off a vital block against Inman's volley after a scramble in the box but his game going forward wasn't spectacular.
Alexander Meier - 6
His best moment of the game wasn't going forward, but a goal line clearance from Macaulay Gillesphey's header kept the scores at 0-0 in the second half.
Mitchell Duke - 6
The captain was trying to rev up his side throughout the match but lead by example with an exceptional work rate up and down the left side.
SUBSTITUTES
Tass Mourdoukoutas - 6
Replaced the injured Pirmin Schwegler after 18 minutes and pulled off a number of blocks and tackles.
Nicolai Müller - 6
The German made his debut off the bench for Western Sydney as they chased the lead. He looked sharp getting into dangerous areas.
Patrick Ziegler - N/A
Patrick Ziegler made his return to the Wanderers side, coming off the bench and playing his first minutes since January.
BRISBANE ROAR
Max Crocombe - 6
Crocombe showed great reactions stop to Gerogievski's volley but he will have been disappointing with his passing throughout the match.
Daniel Bowles - 6
Bowles could have given Brisbane the lead if it weren't for the cat-like reflexes of Daniel Lopar.
Tom Aldred - 6.5
A clean sheet away to the current league leaders will please the Brisbane Roar captain who had a decent performance.
Macaulay Gillesphey - 6
He'll rue the awareness of Alex Meier on the goal line as he cleared his shot which was destined for the net. In the end Gillesphey had a mixed performance.
Scott Neville - 6.5
Neville enjoyed opportunities to get forward at left full-back and is developing a good connection with Bradden Inman as a number of chances came down his channel.
James O'Shea - 7
He was causing the Wanderers a few problems down Brisbane's right channel. O'Shea's ability to turn and play forward with speed was the difference for Brisbane when they attacked.
Stefan Mauk - 6.5
Mauk was pulling Wanderers players out of position coming deep to get the ball and stopped Kwame Yeboah's clear chance with a block in the box.
Aiden O'Neill - 6
Nothing much to write home about for Aiden O'Neill's performance against the Wanderers. His passing was in good form with a very high success rate.
Jake McGing - 6
McGing's technique when it came to his first touch and crossing needed improvement in this match but he was getting into the right positions to have time on the ball in dangerous areas.
Roy O'Donovan - 6
O'Donovan had a solid match dropping deep to begin attacks for Brisbane. He was able to sneak ahead of Jurman and McGowan to link up with Inman.
Bradden Inman - 6
Inman and O'Donovan look like they are on the same wavelength in build up. Unfortunately they've not quite got the finishing touch.
