Socceroo Martin Boyle says he has learned so much by playing for Australia.
Boyle played for Scotland's Under-16s and was previously close to a senior call-up for Scotland.
But when the 26-year-old came off the bench in the World Cup qualifier against Jordan he was officially tied to Australia.
"When I pull on that Australia jersey I want to give everything," he explained.
"I always kept saying I could represent Scotland. But when I was on the bench in Jordan the boys were saying ‘There’s no going back now! I kept winding them up saying there was still time. They’ve been brand new since day one.
"Sometimes I need to slow down the way I talk so they can understand what I am saying. But I have become good pals with them, we’re always in touch, group chats and the like. You see the stature of players they have, Premier League players like Matty Ryan and Aaron Mooy.
"We have players from all over the world playing Champions League and Europa League football now. The expectation is really high so we need to be challenging for everything, starting with qualification for the World Cup.
"Then hopefully we can go to the Copa America with no fear and compete."
