Socceroos centre back Bailey Wright says he is feeling at his strongest and fittest as he readies for the new Championship season with Preston North End this weekend.
Wright is entering his seventh season with Preston after joining the club as a teenager.
The 24-year-old has made more than 160 first-team appearances for the English club.
The Lilywhites were promoted from League One in 2015 and finished a respectable 11th in their first season back in the Championship.
Wright told FourFourTwo that Preston is aiming for a playoff place this season.
"We want to build on last year and try and push for the playoffs," Wright said.
"We've got a good group of players with good mentalities who want to win football games, so hopefully that can get us where we want to be this season.
"The team's looking good. We've made a few additions which have strengthened us and the boys are looking fit and strong."

The Lilywhites have brought in Aston Villa forward Callum Robinson, Fulham midfielder Ben Pringle, West Brom goalkeeper Anders Lindegaard, Blackburn defender Tommy Spurr and Palermo striker Simon Makienok.
Wright said he has been working hard in pre-season, including in a camp in Cork, and is raring to go.
"I'm feeling good, probably the fittest and strongest I've felt going into a new season," he said.
"I'm just trying to be better at everything, tactical, technically and physically. Every year you play you become wiser and more experienced and I hope to keep building and getting better."
Preston starts its 2016-17 campaign with a fixture against Reading at the Madejski Stadium on Saturday.
"I'm looking forward to it," the defender said.
"The first game of the season so everyone's eager for the shirt and ready to play.
“We know it's going to be tough, especially away from home, but we feel confident we can go there and do a job.”
