Celtic manager Neil Lennon has promised Stipe Pletikosa another chance to impress after the goalkeeper was given little to do in a trial match against Cardiff.
The Croatia international was a virtual spectator as Celtic secured a 1-0 friendly win at the Cardiff City Stadium thanks to a first-half header from Anthony Stokes.
Pletikosa made just one real save, getting fully behind a 30-yard strike from Joe Mason, and was rarely tested with aerial balls.
Lennon is looking for someone to compete with Lukasz Zaluska for the number one jersey with Dominic Cervi currently the understudy following Fraser Forster's return to Newcastle.
And Pletikosa looks set to get another chance in one of the four friendlies Celtic play following their Clydesdale Bank Premier League opener against Hibernian on Sunday.
Lennon said: "The keeper didn't have a lot to do and it would be difficult to sign him on the evidence of that but be will have another look. A short-term contract is a possibility.
"I want another goalkeeper - we've only got two at the moment. In any scenario I want to bring another goalkeeper in."
Cardiff manager Malky Mackay confirmed he had begun talks with former Celtic striker Kenny Miller.
The npower Championship club have matched Bursaspor's asking price, which was more than double the £400,000 bid that Rangers failed to bring the 31-year-old back to Ibrox with.
"We've been in talks with Miller," Mackay said. "Bursaspor have accepted a bid and we're trying to get it done.
"I've explained my thoughts on Cardiff and what we can offer him.
"He's a top footballer and getting better and better."
Rangers look set to end their pursuit of Miller, who scored 21 goals for the Scottish champions last season before his January move to Turkey, where he has failed to settle.
Mackay added: "I can only control what I can control and that's my club. If other clubs make bids, that's up to them."
Meanwhile, Lennon admitted the game was vital preparation for the Easter Road encounter.
"Some of the players needed that 90 minutes," the Celtic manager said.
"We were a bit rusty but we got something out of it. We were solid defensively but we were a wee bit flaky in the final third."
