WITH the lads over in South Africa, we’ve been on the phone this week to canvass opinion from our own Aidan Ormond, former England international Paul Parker, Socceroo Jacob Burns plus the ‘Man In The Ball’.
This week is low on studio views, but high on phone chats as we stitch together an interview-based monster of a podcast. First up is our roving online journo Aidan Ormond (who was just about to have breakfast at 5pm!) to discuss what it's been like following different nations' fans across Sydney.
Next up is former Manchester United and England international Paul Parker, who formed part of the England side who reached the semi-finals of Italia 90. We discuss the similarities between England in 1990 and 2010, plus delve into the (largely unrealistic!) expectations placed on England teams every four years.
Then we chat with Socceroo and Perth Glory midfielder Jacob Burns, who reviews the Socceroos' progress, gives an insight into the squad's mentality and answers if property tycoon/star striker Robbie Fowler has tried to buy his house!
Finally we speak to FourFourTwo reader Adam Santarossa, who was chosen to spend the entire World Cup inside a 6m replica of the adidas Jabulani ball in Melbourne. He talks relieving the boredom, strange sleep patterns and drunk Socceroos' fans attempting to push over his home after the Germany thrashing! You can also follow Adam's progress in the ball through his Facebook page which includes daily blogs, pictures and videos, or follow him on Twitter.
