Pohang Steelers boss Sergio Farias admitted it was far from a vintage performance from his side but was delighted they managed to book their place in the Asian Champions League final.
Goals from Stevica Ristic and No Byung-jun saw Pohang claim a 2-1 win over Umm Salal at Qatar Sports Club and a 4-1 aggregate victory over the two legs of the semi-final, setting up a showdown with Al Ittihad at Tokyo'sNational Stadium on November 7.
"To be honest, it was not a good game to watch today," said the 42-year-old Brazilian.
"However, we got a good result tonight, that was what we wanted and I think this is a part of the competition."
"I said before the game that we are going to do our best to win and that's exactly what happened as we won tonight and this was our main target.
"We have a good team and that's why we are now in the final of the tournament. We have always played with an offensive formation and we managed to score four goals in the two games in the semi-finals."
Ibrahima Nadiya scored a consolation free-kick in stoppage time for Umm Salal, who were unable to overturn a 2-0 deficit from the first-leg.
Despite seeing his side's surprise Champions League run end at the semi-final stage, coach Gerard Gili was nevertheless full of praise for what the Qataris had managed to do this year.
"I congratulate Umm Salal for their achievement as I believe that we made history in this tournament," said the Frenchman.
"I also congratulate Pohang Steelers because they are a strong team and they have showed in the two games that they deserved to advance to the final.
"We had some chances to score in the first-half as did Pohang, but the first-half finished scoreless. I think that against a team like Pohang, you can't afford to miss any chances."
"Pohang are a decent team and they have a lot of experience in the AFC Champions League. In the second-half, the first goal killed the game for us."
