The South Koreans are level on nine points with Adelaide at the top of Group H and both will seal their place in the knock-out stage if they share the spoils at Pohang Steelyard.

But Lemos assured fans his side will be aiming to take all three points in order to give themselves the best chance of claiming top spot, which would give them crucial home advantage in the next stage of the tournament.

"My players know how we should play tomorrow," said the Brazilian. "They also know what result we will need. We only want a victory.

"Adelaide are a good team, there is no doubt about that. If we don't waste our chance to score, the match should be favourable to us."

Adelaide caretaker coach Joe Mullen stressed the Australians have not travelled to South Korea with the aim of playing for a draw.

"Tomorrow's game is very important for us," he said. "Pohang are a strong team and they make me nervous.

"We know that we will secure a place in the last 16 with a point. But a draw is not what we really want."

Meanwhile, Chinese side Shandong Luneng tackle Sanfrecce Hiroshima of Japan at Shandong Sports Centre with both sides needing three points to keep alive their qualification hopes.

The result in the game will be inconsequential should the other match finish in a draw but regardless of what happens in Korea, Shandong coach Branko Ivankovic is expecting a thrilling spectacle for the fans.

"It goes without saying that both sides will turn out offence-minded in the match," the Croatian said.

"We and our rivals are both aware that it will be a live-or-die meeting and will focus on attack."

Sanfrecce boss Mihailo Petrovic admitted his side will go all out attack in pursuit of the three vital points.

"It is a must-win game for both sides," he said.

"We will definitely go all out to chase a victory here."
