Wanderers had been thrashed 4-0 and 5-1 in their opening two Group F games before hitting back in South Korea, to stay in the race for the last 16.

The visitors raced to a three-goal lead thanks to goals from Lachlan Scott, Terry Antonis and Jaushua Sotirio before fending off a late Seoul rally.

"You never expect a score of 3-0, but we took our opportunities very well," Popovic told Yonhap News.

"From our point of view, it was a very good result. In the end, when you score three goals away from home, you should win the match.

"We expected FC Seoul to fight and they did. They got the back in the game, but after all, we're delighted to get three points away from home.

"We will gain a lot of confidence from this performance and result. Now, we will going to repeat this result in our home ground."

Wanderers are at home to Seoul in their next ACL match, while they host Wellington Phoenix in the A-League on Sunday.
