Tony Popovic took a moment to single out Jake Brimmer's performance in their Premiership-winning match against Newcastle Jets, but has one eye firmly set on Sydney FC.
It was all set to be a potential title-decider before the Sky Blues' derby draw against Western Sydney Wanderers, but Popovic insists Perth will still be treating their match against Sydney with the appropriate respect.
It's easy to see why. While the Premiership is already won, Sydney are favourites to meet Popovic's Perth side in the Grand Final.
On a personal level, two-time Premiership winner Popovic is looking towards a maiden Championship victory after two heartbreaking losses with the Wanderers. On a club level, his Perth side have only lost two matches this season, but both were at home, one against Sydney and the other against Melbourne Victory.
"We are playing a big club, a big opponent and we want to put in a good performance," he said.
"We are just concentrating on that. Some players that haven't had a lot of minutes will possibly get a chance to travel.
"Everyone wants to be a part of it and the whole squad has participated so far, some with more minutes thanĀ others, obviously.
"But they've all contributed to our success and I'm sure they will continue to do so moving forward."
Popovic also hailed former Joey and Liverpool youngster Jake Brimmer, who despite finding first-team chances rare in the oldest squad in the league, came on to sensational effect against Newcastle Jets.
"We are on top because of the strength of the squad and that makes us proud as a club, having a strong squad of players that can step in," he said.
"We had Jake Brimmer, a young talent, come on very early for Juande in a very important game for our football club on Sunday and the boy was outstanding.
"Now, if he wasn't training as well as he can and not at the level required, he couldn't do that.
"There are many like Jake here at the club that are waiting for their opportunity and we just want to have them prepared and ready so that if the chance comes, they can showcase their talent."
