Queiroz's men struggled in qualifying and only sneaked into the play-offs above Sweden as Denmark won their group.

They have now been pitted in the toughest group of them all as they face Ivory Coast in their opener in nine days time before taking on Brazil and North Korea.

Queiroz said: "The most important thing is to concentrate on the first game, then we will think of the second and you can be assured that, game after game, the team will do everything to honour the country and give joy to the Portuguese fans.

"We will carry their love in our hearts and it will fill us with courage, inspiration and determination to do well.

"We will give all of our lives so that all our fans feel proud and revel in the attitude and ambition that our players will put into every game."
