"We're on a pretty extraordinary run at the moment and you don't go on a run like unless there's character," he said.

"It can't just be all about the performance and football. There's tremendous resilience in this group.

"If you look at all the other teams they string two or three results together and they struggle to back it up.

"We've just come from being on the roads for four weeks and met a Gold Coast side very determined to knock us over and this team keeps rising to the challenge."

Postecoglou added he felt his side deserved all three points from Sunday's draw but said he couldn't be happier with their performance.

"There's no doubt we deserved more," Postecoglou said. "We've been about performance all year and I wouldn't complain about that. The boys played really well and creating some fantastic opportunities.

"They (Gold Coast) defended really desperately. (Glen) Moss was oustanding and (Dino) Djulbic was outstanding, so I can't really complain.

"When we've set our target on being consistent and sometimes results in football don't go your way, but I couldn't be happier with the display."

Postecoglou also praised young striker Kosta Barbarouses who scored one goal and won the penalty for the other.

"He's an outstanding young player and there's more ahead for him, he can improve even further," he said.

Brisbane's next match is away to Adelaide United on January 2.
