The Italians travel to the Philips Stadion on Thursday knowing they need to score if they wish to keep their European dreams alive.

The Viola conceded what could prove to be an important away goal in their first leg against PSV last week in Florence when Danny Koevermans cancelled out Adrian Mutu´s opener, but Prandelli is optimistic.

"It´s going to be a very difficult game," he said. "But these are the challenges that we need to overcome.

"I am convinced that if we go with the right mentality we can do well."

The Viola have reason to be wary as they have won just one game away from home in European competition this season - a 1-0 triumph at Norwegian side Rosenborg.

Prandelli will be hoping his side show the same grit they displayed when they eliminated Everton in the previous round on a penalty shoot-out.

The good news for Prandelli is that defenders Tomas Ujfalusi and Alessandro Gamberini have both shaken off muscle injuries.

The Viola go into the game in a buoyant mood after a 2-0 defeat of Reggina on Sunday to hold on to fouth place Serie A and maintain their four-point advantage over AC Milan.

A fourth-place finish would guarantee the Tuscan outfit a Champions League qualifying spot next season.

Gamberini believes his team have already proved they can deal with the pressure of a big game.

"This team is getting used to playing crucial games every three or four days," he said. "We know that on Thursday we are playing for an important aim this season and that we face an arduous task.

"The only way to succeed is to give everything on the pitch and for all of us this is a very important opportunity to show our value.

"The important thing is not to concede a goal early on and try to be in the game for the entire 90 minutes."

Prandelli has one dilemma heading into the clash: who will play alongside top scorer Adrian Mutu in attack.

Giampaolo Pazzini scored at the weekend while veteran striker Christian Vieri has struck three goals in the European competition this season.
