PSG held joint leaders Auxerre to a 1-1 draw on their own turf last night and on Saturday night face defending champions Bordeaux, who lie fourth in the standings - a point behind Lyon, Montpellier and AJA.

But Kombouare is not bothered about how his side's exploits may have a crucial bearing on the title race.

"I do not care about other teams," he told L'Equipe.

"We will play our game, take as many points as possible and try to achieve the best ranking.

"After Bordeaux, we will prepare the Coupe de France match against Quevilly in Caen."

It has been a disappointing season for the Parisiens but they picked up seven points in March to banish any lingering relegation worries and have a cup semi-final against Quevilly to look forward to on April 14.

Daniel Niculae put Jean Fernandez's Auxerre ahead in the 11th minute last night but their lead lasted just five minutes before Younousse Sankhare equalised.

Kombouare was delighted with his team's response to going a goal down.

Asked whether they would have reacted as well a month ago, he said: "I do not know. What is important is that we showed the desire, consistency and durability to produce a very good game in a difficult environment."

The PSG boss was sent off in stoppage time last time after confronting the fourth official - a decision he felt was unnecessary.

"I asked the fourth official about something," he said.

"To dismiss me for these few words, I think is harsh.

"I will talk to my fellow coaches and tell them to be careful, because otherwise there will be no worldwide on the benches."
