PSV Eindhoven have ruled out any attempt to bring Tottenham goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes back to Holland.
Spurs boss Harry Redknapp turned down an approach for the 27-year-old earlier this month after the Brazilian formed a close relationship with goalkeeper coach Tony Parkes and turned around his early-season poor form.
Carlo Cudicini has been signed on a free transfer from Chelsea to add competition for Gomes, with Redknapp wanting two reliable stoppers rather than allowing one to leave.
PSV technical manager Adrie van Kraaij told AD Sportwereld: "We also heard the news that Tottenham signed a keeper, but we have no direct contact with Gomes. We never spoke internally about a possible return."
Redknapp is still in the market for a striker but interest in Sunderland's Kenwyne Jones ended with the Trinidad and Tobago international signing a new deal at the Stadium of Light.
Lyon striker Fred remains a possibility, amid reports the Brazilian has travelled to London for talks over a deal to the Premier League.
Redknapp lost out on Craig Bellamy to Manchester City, with West Ham unwilling to do business with their neighbours.
"I made it quite clear to Craig that there wasn't any possibility of him joining Tottenham," said West Ham chief executive Scott Duxbury on Sky Sports News. "Why on earth should we sell any player to our rivals that would strengthen their team? It just makes no sense to me.
"There is a change of philosophy at this club. I keep referring to the football project and it's a business plan we stick to.
"Part of that is we need to be aware of our fans' expectations, we need to be aware of who our local rivals are and there is massive rivalry between ourselves and Tottenham.
Sources close to Miguel Veloso believe Spurs are monitoring the situation of the Portugal midfielder, who has been targeted by Bolton.
Redknapp earlier this month outlined the shortage of numbers he has compared to his previous club.
He said: "When I was at Portsmouth last year we had 10 good defenders and eight central midfielders for three positions. That is the strength we had and here it is completely the opposite."
