Stoke City manager Tony Pulis has urged England fans to get behind their new manager Roy Hodgson.
West Bromwich Albion man Hodgson was unveiled on Tuesday as a replacement for the departed national team head coach Fabio Capello, who resigned in February.
Pulis, speaking after Stoke's 1-1 draw with Everton at the Britannia Stadium, encouraged fans to support the experienced Hodgson.
"I think it's up to everyone to get behind Roy, that's very, very important," Pulis said.
"He's a good coach, he's an experienced coach. He's worked at international level; he's worked at the top level in England.
"What Roy will now understand is that he's got to win some games, because as a manager - at any level - if he wins a load of games, he'll be carried round England.
England face Ukraine, Sweden and France in Group D at Euro 2012 and Pulis said Hodgson will be well aware one slip up could cost him the support of the fans.
"If he doesn't (win consistently) then obviously he knows what'll come and Roy's experienced (enough) to know that.
"You get the job and you need to win games and that's what Roy has do, but I think when they play in the Euros everyone should get behind him, do the best they possibly can to help him and get the best possible results that you (the England fans) want in the Euros.
"Good luck to him."
Meanwhile, Everton manager David Moyes felt his side should have snatched the three points after a Peter Crouch own goal was cancelled out by Cameron Jerome's equaliser for Stoke.
"I thought that we played very well tonight and that we were maybe a wee bit unlucky not to take a bit more from it, but taking a point here isn't the worst result," Moyes said.
"I thought we played some really nice football at times, kept the ball well.
"But it's always hard breaking Stoke down and they're always a threat, and they were a threat, two or three of their throw-ins went in and were headed just over the bar, so that was close.
The point all but confirmed Everton a top-10 finish in the Premier League, another result Moyes was pleased with.
"If we can just keep trying to win them I'll be pleased that we finish in the top 10, tonight's point might just get us in the top 10."
