Roberto Mancini's men travel to the Britannia Stadium hoping to reclaim top spot in the Barclays Premier League.

A point would be enough to return City to the summit of a competition they have led for most of the season, but that could hand an advantage to rivals Manchester United, who host Fulham on Monday.

Pulis wants to capitalise on any anxiety in the City camp by building on an impressive draw at Tottenham in midweek, albeit one in which they conceded a late equaliser.

Pulis said: "It was disappointing because Tottenham scored so late - you think you've done it.

"But they are a good side and for us to go down there and put in the performance we put in, was excellent.

"It is a different game tomorrow. Obviously the stakes are higher, all the pressure is on Man City to win the game.

"If you have a look at the resources Man City have and the money they have spent, the players they have got and the lead they had around Christmas they will be desperately keen to get over the line.

"It is a real ding dong of a game, we are looking forward to it.

"If they play to their maximum and everything goes their way, it will be very difficult for us.

"We are just hoping we turn up and play to our maximum, and the decisions go our way.

"We have the opportunity to have a right crack at them, and that is what we will try to do."

The visitors are again expected to have controversial striker Carlos Tevez on their bench.

Tevez, after six months out of the side following a dispute with the club, came on to set up a late winner against Chelsea in midweek.

The Argentinian, City's top scorer in the past two seasons, could give his side an extra edge in the title race.

Pulis said: "Man City pay his wages, so they have a responsibility to do what is best for them.

"They feel, irrespective of what has been said or done, they want Tevez back in the team.

"Everyone is entitled to be forgiven, it doesn't matter what you do or don't do. They have seen fit to do that.

"Whether they have done it for the right reasons or not, everybody will have an opinion and debate that.

"But you can forgive people for doing things that are not right."

Pulis was pleased with the response of his players at Spurs after Liverpool ended their interest in the FA Cup at the quarter-final stage.

The Potters also enjoyed an extended run in the Europa League, but, with all their cup commitments now over, Pulis wants a top-half finish for the first time since winning promotion in 2008.

Before that, however, the first task is to secure a place in the top flight for another season.

Pulis said: "We have had a fantastic season so far and are only a couple of games away from 50 games.

"It has been tough, but a season I think everyone has enjoyed.

"All we have got to do is finish it off with a good run.

"The players' performance and attitude at Tottenham was fantastic.

"We were really disappointed not to get something at Liverpool, we were really down in the dumps.

"We still want to get to those 40 points as quickly as possible.

"I still think there is a job to be done. I really think the main thing tomorrow is giving a good performance, getting the crowd going.

"Against the top sides I don't think you can play as expansive, because they have so many great players, but we will do our best."

With Ricardo Fuller still suspended, Pulis could continue with Peter Crouch and Jonathan Walters up front, but Cameron Jerome staked a claim with a goal from his makeshift winger's role on Wednesday.
