Qatar were held to their second consecutive goalless draw after playing out a stalemate with Syria in an international friendly at Al Abbassiyin Stadium.
Qatar, who also drew 0-0 with Iran last Thursday, were missing newly nationalised players Fabio Cesar and Marconi Ameral Costa through injury.
Qatar have been drawn in Group A of the 2010 World Cup qualifiers with Australia, Iraq and China while Syria are in Group E with Iran, UAE and Kuwait.
