Neil Warnock accepts QPR will be "turned over" on occasions in the Barclays Premier League, but has been inspired by Blackpool's performances last season.
The npower Championship winners, who open their first top-flight campaign since 1996 against Bolton on Saturday, are among the favourites for relegation.
But Warnock refuses to be intimidated by the challenge of survival and will approach it in the same way as Blackpool, whose attacking style won them legions of fans.
"Last year was a very illuminating time for me watching Blackpool play," he said.
"I know they got relegated but they epitomised playing without fear. They weren't worried about getting turned over.
"The teams that have been promoted will get turned over here and there, we just have to get over that as quickly as possible.
"But there shouldn't be a fear factor in the Premier League, it's a privilege to be here.
"There's been a few hard fought years since I was in the Premier League with Sheffield United and I'm glad to be back."
The short odds on QPR being relegated are largely down to their underwhelming activity in the transfer window.
Today's signing of Brazilian defender Bruno Perone, subject to international clearance, has lifted the number of new recruits to six.
The 24-year-old, who can also play in midfield, has agreed a one-year deal following a month-long trial in west London.
"Bruno has fitted in very well in the time he has been with us," Warnock told his club's official website, www.qpr.co.uk.
"He did well during pre-season. He's still got lots to learn but when the time comes I am sure we will be able to put him in the team with confidence.
"One of the things he has got to learn is the language. At the moment Ali Faurlin is helping him out."
Jay Bothroyd, DJ Campbell, Danny Gabbidon, Kieron Dyer and Brian Murphy had already arrived at Loftus Road and Warnock has targeted further additions.
"We want one or even maybe two more players before the end of August," he said.
"When the 25-man squad comes out I'm looking at one or even two Premier league players on loan.
"We need bits and bobs because there will be players leaving as well.
"We've been linked with some silly names. Joe Cole, Peter Crouch - we couldn't afford one of their laces let alone their wages.
"I would like another wide player. We've lost Wayne Routledge from last season.
"Jamie Mackie has been out injured, although we're hoping he gets the go-ahead to join in now.
"But we still need another wide player to change games and having different tactics.
"But overall the lads from last season deserve a crack because we did exceptionally well to get us promoted."
