QPR's relegation from the Premier League is all but confirmed after they slumped to a 2-0 home defeat against Stoke City on Saturday.

Harry Redknapp's side are 10 points adrift of the 17th-placed Aston Villa and would need to win all four of their remaining matches to have any chance of surviving.

Given they have only won four times this season, that prospect is incredibly remote, but despite their likely relegation, QPR chief executive Philip Beard insisted that the club will not be forced to sell their stars if Redknapp wants to keep them.

The Loftus Road outfit know that bouncing back into the top-flight at the first attempt is crucial and Beard believes the club still has a 'very bright' future.

"We agreed that if we're relegated, we have to bounce straight back," Beard told The Daily Mirror.

"To do this we need the strongest squad possible and for that reason every player under contract must stay unless we get the right offer and Harry agrees to let them go.

"The commitment of the shareholders, including (co-owner and vice-chairman) Amit Bhatia, is clear for all to see, and despite what has been a desperately disappointing season, the long-term future is very bright."

QPR's relegation is likely to be confirmed at Reading on Sunday.
