Logan United scored either side of halftime to record their first home victory of the season against Bundaberg Spirit. Tom Moore headed home in the first half to open the scoring, before Toru Seki, who was given a start against the Spirit following his impressive stunt as a substitute last weekend, unleashed a shot that bounced off a Spirit defender for their second goal. The victory means that Logan have beaten Bundaberg on both occasions they have met this season and Spirit are still bottom of the league with seven points.

Brisbane Strikers hosted Queensland Academy of Sport in a lively encounter on Saturday night. Queensland Academy of Sport opened the scoring, with the lively Jordan Farina hitting the ball into the back of the net against the side his father Frank won the NSL title with in 1997 as Player/Coach. Alec Panic drew the sides level before a last gasp goal from Matt Smith claimed a late victory for the Strikers.

PNG Internationals Kema Jack and David Muta were the heroes for Sunshine Coast FC on their trip to Rockhampton – both players scoring in their 2-1 win over Capricorn Cougars. Jack scored first, before Cougars equalised through a penalty converted by Tristan Fraser. Muta ensured the Coast side would return home with the three points, scoring directly from a corner soon after. The win sees Sunshine Coast slightly extend their lead on top of the table from nine points to ten, having taken 40 points from 15 games.

High-flying and high-spirited NQ Razorbacks scored five against Whitsunday Miners to take out-right second place on the ladder, having been equal on points with Redlands City Devils all week. Razorbacks had five different scorers on the day in their impressive performance, helped by the fact the Miners were down to ten men following the dismissal of their captain, Daniel Scotton.

Redlands City Devils suffered their second heavy defeat in a row, this time at the hands of Olympic FC. Shane Coffey and Chris Hagell each scored twice for the home side, along with a single goal from Stephane Lago. Tau Winnie scored the consolation for the Devils after coming on as an early substitute following Paul Mellers’ injury in the opening stages of the game. The final score was 5-1.
