THE Portuguese Football Federation are investigating allegations coach Carlos Queiroz insulted members of Portugal's anti-doping authority.
The incident occurred in May, at a training camp where the Portugal team were preparing for the World Cup.
Queiroz was reportedly annoyed at the repeated testing of several of his players and allegedly hurled abuse at the anti-doping committee and in particular president Luis Horta.
"The matter is with the federation to be evaluated," Secretary of State Laurentino Dias told Radio Renascenca.
"The facts that were established in the investigation oblige the federation to study them.
"If they were not serious facts there would not have been any investigation, or it would have been archived."
Queiroz has been in charge of Portugal since 2008 and led them to the World Cup in South Africa, where they lost out to eventual winners Spain at the last 16 stage.
This year has been dogged by controversy for him as the former Manchester United assistant was involved in a physical altercation with a Portuguese journalist in February, while there were reports of a World Cup spat with Deco.
The sending home of Nani through injury was also badly explained while Portugal and in particular star man Cristiano Ronaldo misfired in South Africa.
Queiroz has a contract until after the European Championships in two years, but reports suggest the federation could use this latest incident as a way to dismiss the 57-year-old.
