RAFAEL Benitez and Liverpool have given Rugby League side Melbourne Storm tips on their training and recovery techniques during a recent trip to England.
Storm officials, including head coach Craig Bellamy, were given access to the inner workings of Premiership super-club Liverpool while in England for the club's World Club Challenge campaign. The Aussies were also visitors to London clubs Arsenal and championship club Watford.
They found that Liverpool promoted a physical style of post-match recovery where players were put through further high-intensity running, while other clubs promoted different types of water-based recovery techniques.
Storm - the current NRL champions - were given unrestricted access at Watford and sat in on a meeting between the coaching staff where the game plan for their next match was discussed, reports Melbourne's Herald Sun.
