Manager Juande Ramos insists he is concentrating on "saving Tottenham's season" and has not considered what additions he needs to make to his squad.
The former Sevilla coach has been at White Hart Lane for just over a week and in his first Barclays Premier League match in charge he saw his side once again concede a lead to draw 1-1 at Middlesbrough.
Spurs are fourth-bottom of the table and Ramos knows he has a lot of work to do to raise confidence in the camp and improve results.
But that will not, in the first instance, involve making wholesale changes to the playing staff.
"I won't ask for signings until I have more information on the squad," he said.
"We have to save this season. For next season we will be able to make more modifications and without pressure."
Since his arrival there has been much speculation about the futures of striker Dimitar Berbatov and England goalkeeper Paul Robinson.
The former's relationship with previous manager Martin Jol appeared to have hit an all-time low just prior to the Dutchman's departure and sparked suggestions the Bulgaria international would be looking to leave the club in January.
Spurs sporting director Damien Comolli has stressed Berbatov remains central to their plans and Ramos agreed.
"Berbatov is a great player and we'll have to look at why he is not at his best," he said, while also backing for his goalkeeper.
"Robinson is a good goalkeeper, which is why he is the England keeper."
Ramos has been linked with a return to his old club for former Tottenham striker Frederic Kanoute and the former Sevilla coach was full of praise for the forward.
"Kanoute is a great player. At Sevilla, he was always great value and would be for any team," he told Spanish sports daily Marca.
"I don't know what happened (with the player at Tottenham). I can only talk about what he did at Sevilla, and he was extraordinary."
