A 1-0 defeat by Birmingham on Friday saw the Rams' midlands rivals take over at the top thanks to Rowan Vine's first-half strike.

But Davies is determined Deby will get back to winning ways as soon as possible.

"We've got to go and really get at them as much as we can," he said.

"We have got to cause them a lot of problems and continue the target of picking up as many points as we can.

"It will be a tough match for both sides but it is one we're looking forward to."

Davies will be without the services of defenders Michael Johnson and Paul Boertien.

Centre-half Johnson had originally been expected to miss up to six weeks with a torn hamstring muscle but now doctors have revealed that the 33-year-old's campaign could be over.

Boertien will again be unavailable due to a calf injury, and a severely bruised foot will keep Stephen Pearson on the sidelines.

Rangers boss John Gregory hopes to have top scorer Dexter Blackstock available for the clash with the manager's old club.

Blackstock was taken off after an hour of Saturday's 1-1 draw with Sheffield Wednesday when he complained of a tight hamstring, but Gregory is confident the former Southampton striker will recover in time.

Gregory said: "Dexter had a bit of pain in his hamstring, but he should be okay for Tuesday."

If Blackstock - who had a spell on loan at Derby in 2005 - does not make it, then Marc Nygaard, his replacement on Saturday, could partner Paul Furlong in attack.

Goalkeeper Lee Camp is unavailable under the terms of his loan deal from Derby, so Simon Royce or Jake Cole is expected to step in.

Former Rams players Adam Bolder and Inigo Idiakez are expected to feature, but midfielder Marc Bircham (back) remains sidelined.

Steve Bruce's Blues have re-established themselves at the top with three successive 1-0 victories and travel to Norwich tonight.

Striker Vine - responding to comments from West Brom boss Tony Mowbray, who said he would get little satisfaction from his team scrapping for slender wins - has insisted grinding out results is a crucial factor if they are to gain promotion.

"Three points is three points at the end of the day," he told PA Sport. "It's all right saying you don't want your teams scrapping for 1-0 wins but I think we've won more games than West Brom this season and we are top of the league.

"We are not going to play attractive football but we will take 1-0s. In any case, it is a quality in itself. You need to be able to play more than one style of football. That's the sign of true champions."

Blues will be without top scorer Gary McSheffrey for the game as he starts a three-match suspension for his red card against Derby.

Elsewhere an improving Wolves side travelling to midlands rivals Coventry.

Cardiff, in sixth, travel to Southampton (eighth), Colchester go to Sheffield Wednesday and Preston host Ipswich.

At the foot of the table Leeds will look to build on their win over fellow strugglers Luton at the weekend when they travel to Leicester, while the Hatters host fellow strugglers Hull and second-bottom Southend welcome Burnley.
