DERBY County boss Nigel Clough has taken just over an hour to decide that Patrick Kisnorbo will be a valuable addition to his squad.
The Socceroo defender played an hour of Derby's friendly against Burton Albion at the weekend and the former Leicester City man did enough to impress.
Clough told the Derby Evening Telegraph: ".It is well documented that centre-half is a position we are looking to improve and he may well be an improvement on what we have got.
"He has got Championship experience and although he is not 6ft 3in or 6ft 4in, he competes well and he can play full-back as well, so it covers us in that position. We will sit down and have a chat with him."
Kisnorbo had also been training at Crystal Palace but Derby appear favourites to land him. He rejected an approach from Melbourne Victory earlier in pre-season.
