Rangers are expected to be reported to the Scottish Premier League after fans' songs during last night's match at Caledonian Thistle were deemed offensive.
The Glasgow giants have already been sanctioned twice by UEFA as a result of discriminatory chanting from their supporters, during Champions League and UEFA Cup matches against Villarreal and Osasuna respectively.
The Ibrox club now find themselves under the spotlight again, nine days after launching the 'Follow With Pride' campaign which is aimed at cleaning up the club's image by ending sectarian and other abusive chanting.
It is understood that today's events at the Caledonian Stadium will be mentioned in SPL delegate Alan Dick's report, which is expected at the SPL's offices on Tuesday.
Rangers could face a fine or have points docked but are more likely to escape with a warning this time.
The club have worked tirelessly to eradicate sectarianism within a minority of their support.
A statement from Rangers said: "The club is wholly committed to continuing its efforts to eradicate inappropriate behaviour.
"We will be looking into the circumstances surrounding today's game."
