Here, Press Association Sport looks at the key battles that need to be won.

MADJID BOUGHERRA v MARC-ANTOINE FORTUNE

Bougherra is Rangers best defender but is often also one of their most creative influences when he goes on his trademark mazy runs upfield. His pace and power, however, will have to be harnessed in defence as he looks to contain the threat of Fortune.

The powerful and pacy former Nancy striker had a goal chalked off against Rangers in the 1-1 draw at Celtic Park for a foul on goalkeeper Allan McGregor and will hope to make amends on Sunday.

STEVEN WHITTAKER v AIDEN McGEADY

Whittaker has been in fine form in recent weeks and carries a goal threat from the middle of the park but, like Bougherra, his defensive duties may be called upon more often on Sunday.

McGeady returns from suspension to a venue where he has yet to register a win and where he has often flattered to deceive. However, the Republic of Ireland midfielder has the potential to cause Rangers plenty of problems.

KRIS BOYD v JOSH THOMPSON

As Boyd's critics are always quick to point out, he has scored only once for Rangers against Celtic. However, against what is certain to be a changed Hoops` defence, he will fancy his chances of improving on that record to cap off a week in which he returned to the international fold under Craig Levein after a self-imposed exile.

Due to injuries and personnel changes, Josh Thompson has been fast-tracked into Tony Mowbray's plans, but with mixed results. The 19-year-old will also be making his Old Firm debut.
