Juventus coach Claudio Ranieri played down his team`s pre-season win over Roma - but says his squad can mount a challenge in Serie A.
The Serie B champions fought back from a two-goal deficit after 24 minutes to beat Roma 5-2 at the Manuzzi Stadium in Cesena.
Two goals by David Trezeguet levelled the scores before Vincenzo Iaquinta got the third to put the Bianconeri ahead for the first time.
Alessandro Del Piero and Marcelo Zalayeta completed the scoring for last season's Serie B champions.
Ranieri told the club`s official website, www.juventus.com: "These summer nights are useful to show the team's worth, but we'll simply keep on working.
"I was aware there was a lot to be done before the match and I'm still aware there is now. I'm not getting over-excited.
"I'm simply pleased with how the boys played. They reacted well, they played well and gave a good performance."
And Ranieri is positive he will not have to add to his squad as they launch an assault on the Serie A title.
"Is the market closed? I was already convinced about the quality of this squad on the first day in Pinzolo and I haven't changed my mind," the former Valencia coach added.
